Congrats to NY Amsterdam News 100th Anniversary
Last week the black weekly, the New York Amsterdam News, celebrated its 100th year anniversary at a fundraising gala at Lincoln Center. Publisher and editor, Elinor Tatum, took over the helm of the paper from her late father, Bill Tatum, and has continued its long tradition of covering local and international news for the African American community.
I have written for the AmNews for over ten years. The editors have frequently published my articles covering theater, music and entertainment as well as the Obama presidential campaign.
I congratulate Ms. Tatum and editorial staff on its rich tradition and wish them another 100 years! You can also access the New York Amsterdam News online.
