Patti Labelle stars in “Fela” on Broadway
I enjoyed see “Fela” again at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre this past week. This time around celebrity recording artist and legend, Patti Labelle, starred as Fela’s mother. Spontaneous applause rang out when Labelle entered the stage and her singing voice pierced the air with her trademark clarity and multioctave force. Of course, “Fela” is a stellar musical theater experience on its own but with Patti it adds a whole new dimension. I recommend finding the time to check it out.
